We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Permanent Director of Grants and Administration. This role is for an individual who is passionate about making a significant impact through their work. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of grant management, including post-award management, invoicing, sponsor relations, close-out, reporting, department budgeting, budget allocation, expenditure control, and more. This role will also require strong leadership, guidance, and research skills, and the ability to counsel, advise, and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities:
As the Permanent Director of Grants and Administration, you will:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of grant administration, from application to close-out
2. Ensure accurate invoicing and timely reporting to sponsors
3. Lead the department's budgeting process, including budget allocation and expenditure control
4. Provide leadership and guidance to the grants and administration team
5. Review and negotiate contract terms to ensure the best interests of the organization
6. Conduct thorough research to identify new grant opportunities
7. Counsel and advise team members and stakeholders on best practices in grant management
8. Implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization
9. Handle nondisclosure agreements and other sensitive documents with utmost confidentiality
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant management, post-award management, invoicing, sponsor relations, close-out, and reporting
2. Proven experience in department budgeting, budget allocation, and expenditure control
3. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance and direction to a team
4. Strong research skills and the ability to identify and pursue new grant opportunities
5. Experience in advising and counseling on grant management best practices
6. Proven ability to review and negotiate contract terms
7. Experience in risk mitigation and managing nondisclosure agreements
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
10. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
