At the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, our mission is dedicated to working with all members of the community to increase the economic advancement of Hispanic-owned businesses and to support the professional growth of Hispanics in West Michigan. The Chamber has been advancing Latino businesses and talent in West Michigan since 2004 by representing Hispanic business interests, providing access to economic development services, and advocating for the professional growth of the local Hispanic workforce. With 600 members, the Hispanic Chamber provides business education to members while bringing visibility to the Hispanic business community and increasing its involvement in improving the social and economic climate of West Michigan. What You'll Do:
The Director of Fund Development + Investor Relations will drive resource development and foster WMHCC's growth by cultivating influential relationships, ensuring strategically aligned approaches to fund development and corporate relations, including individual annual giving, monthly giving, fundraising events, and public dollars. This position provides leadership and coaching to the Chamber's marketing partnership and our Membership & Events Manager, creating an effective and motivated marketing and business membership team through shared goals, collaborative environment, and meaningful expectations. In this role you will:
- First and foremost, align to our mission and values as an organization.
- Apply your bachelor's degree or equivalent education along with 10 years of experience in sales, business and fund development with a strong background in major gifts, donor stewardship, or annual fundraising.
- Utilize your strong writing and communication skills to build and expand relationships with corporate partnerships and other community leaders to advance the work of WMHCC focused on increasing the economic advancement of Hispanic owned businesses and support the professional growth of Hispanics in West Michigan.
- Collaborate with the President and CEO along with the Board of Directors for the organization to leverage opportunities for their involvement in fundraising activities.
- Develop and implement an integrated and comprehensive fund development program that accounts for foundation and corporate relations, individual giving, annual appeals, monthly giving program, planned giving, public dollars, and fundraising events.
- Oversee the marketing, memberships, and corporate communications initiatives to ensure seamless integration and coordination within the department.
- Cultivate an engaging team experience by nurturing our team culture through creating opportunities for learning, accountability, collaboration, goal setting targeting program, innovation, and providing feedback that helps improve performance.
- Have a strong cultural competence and understanding of the Latino community in West Michigan and its stakeholders.
- Serve on WMHCC's leadership team which provides strategic vision and collaborative leadership to the organization.
