Job Description for Director of FSMC Site Infrastructure and Tenant Relations
JOB SUMMARY
The New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering and Science Corporation (NY CREATES) is a world-leading R&D, innovation hub and commercialization facilitator in advanced semiconductors.
The Director of FSMC Site Infrastructure and Tenant Relations is responsible for the oversight of the multi-billion-dollar strategic economic development investments in advanced technology programs of Fort Schuyler Management Corporation (FSMC). The candidate manages and owns the day to day and strategic operation for the FSMC / NY CREATES portfolio; actively propose and owns creative solutions to generate revenue to fund existing properties and programs. The best candidate for this role has senior experience in working on construction projects, industrial real estate projects, substation and electrical grid, and major equipment procurements.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Represent Fort Schuyler Management Corporation (FSMC) as Landlord at its 6 economic development sites throughout NY State. Manage properties, projects, and solutions in corroboration between FSMC and NY CREATES
- Manage economic development grant funds that are distributed from NY State
- Own tenant relations for FSMC Properties
- Foster cooperative collaboration.
- Resolve issues in support of FSMC programs and tenants.
- Protect capital investments ensuring they are maintained in good working order.
- Support new economic development initiatives.
- Contract and contract maintenance with Environmental Engineering Consultants over environmentally remediated properties
- Represent FSMC in interactions with State entities ESD, NYSDEC, Local City officials, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Oversee and review all tenant proposed property changes
- Execute Landlord contractual obligated property maintenance
- Lead responsibility for annual budgets
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for FSMC Site Infrastructure and Tenant Relations
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering technology, or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Dept. of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting institution; Proven experience with a lesser degree will also be considered.
- At least 10 years of experience in industrial real estate projects, construction of industry facilities, and business development, or a related experience AND 10 years of experience in a management role within a large, complex organization that has developed a successful technology portfolio and manufacturing capability. The candidate should also have experience managing others.
- Proven success working effectively with a broad array of diverse constituents including senior representatives from business, government and academia is required.
- Demonstrated analytical skills including knowledge of legal, corporate governance, research and global issues; outstanding interpersonal, and exceptional oral and written communication proficiency; the ability to prudently handle confidential and sensitive information; and experience with strategic planning and project management are required skill sets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional/matrix teams to achieve the organization's strategic goals.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experienced in managing Billion-plus dollars in commercial real estate.
- Experienced in manufacturing facility construction, systems, and operations.
- Proven track record at program and operation cost reduction.
- Experience managing a limited use power distribution company.

Salary Range: $140,000- $160,000 annual
*Posted salary rates are determined upon experience and education
