Description
We are seeking a highly strategic and results-driven Director of FP&A for Engineering Services to serve as the Finance Business Partner (FBP) to our two Engineering Divisions. In this critical leadership role, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership teams, providing key financial insights and guidance to shape decision-making and drive profitability. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering services, an agile mindset, and exceptional communication skills to effectively influence outcomes at both the divisional and executive levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders of Engineering Divisions to develop accurate and forward-looking budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and financial goals.
- Provide detailed, actionable analysis of revenue, expenses, and key financial metrics, offering insights on trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead the enhancement of annual budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business priorities.
- Plan, facilitate, and drive results from cross-functional working sessions and meetings, ensuring clear objectives, action items, and follow-up.
- Design and deliver compelling executive-level presentations and management reporting packages, focusing on high-impact financial data that guides decision-making.
- Champion change management initiatives, overseeing the development and execution of project plans with clear milestones to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Drive financial innovation by introducing new ideas, frameworks, and strategies that enhance divisional profitability and financial performance.
Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related fields.
- 8-10 years of relevant financial experience, with a proven track record in a finance business partnership role, ideally within engineering services or a related industry.
- CFA designation (preferred) or actively pursuing.
- Previous experience in a consulting or professional services environment (strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with NetSuite (preferred) and advanced Excel skills (required). Ability to write or record basic VBA scripts (preferred).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to drive change and deliver results.
