The Role:
The Director of Food Safety & Sanitation is responsible for directing and supporting the Food Safety and Sanitation programs within our restaurants. This position will partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outstanding product quality, food safety and sanitation to create a world-class strategic point of difference for Fox Restaurant Concepts.
The Responsibilities:
- Domestic and international supply chain sanitation & food safety
- New product development (food safety & sanitation)
- Specification development/ maintenance & product verification
- Allergens
- Ingredients
- Labeling
- Product Testing
- COAs
- Review occurrences of foreign objects in food and develop corrective actions in partnership with Operations and Culinary teams.
- Assisting Operations in continuous improvement as it relates to food safety and sanitation
- Assist with the management of third-party assessments
- Monitor assessment results and work with Culinary and Operations teams to facilitate corrective action as needed
- Training third party
- Food safety procedures inside the restaurants
- HACCP Plans
- Maintain new restaurant information for manager certifications, food handler card requirements and health requirements in different jurisdictions throughout the US
- Guest complaints
- Training
- Assist with the management of third-party assessments
- Regulatory Relations
- Managing the relationship of local & state health jurisdictions
- Oversee foodborne illness and injuries & crisis management concerns
- Monitoring foodborne illnesses that can affect our restaurants
- Manager CMX product recall/withdrawal system
- Perform restaurant visits as needed to maintain contact and communications
- Work with FRC Training to assure accuracy of training documents
The Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of public health or quality assurance experience
- Must have either a Bachelor's Degree in Science OR Registered Sanitation (RS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)
- Self-motivated and thrives in an environment that encourages self-direction and initiative
- Intuitive, analytical, conceptual, and resourceful when it comes to approaching problem-solving strategies
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Enthusiastic about taking on challenges and providing solutions
- Comfortable working collaboratively with many different personalities across our organization
