Job Summary and Qualifications
- The Director of Food and Nutrition Services is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the departments of Food & Nutrition Services and Medical Nutrition Therapy in support of the organization’s mission, vision, values.
- The Director of Food and Nutrition Services is to assure provision of optimal nutritional care and quality food service to our customers by utilizing cost effective and innovative management techniques in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- The Director of Food and Nutrition Services will plan, direct and supervise the department’s functions of human resource management, staff education & performance improvement.
- Coordination/integration of department services with the hospital’s primary function.
- Develop/implement policies/procedures that guide/support the provision of services.
- Recommend a sufficient number of qualified/competent staff to provide department services in support of provision of services.
- Determine the qualifications/competence of personnel.
- Continuously assess/improve department’s performance.
- Maintain/implement quality control programs.
- Provide for the orientation, in-service training and continuing education of staff.
- Recommend space and other resources needed in the provision of services.
- Identify and select outside sources for needed services.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Food Service required.
Licensure/certification/registration:
- Registered & Licensed Dietician Nutritionist in the State of Texas required.
- Registered Food Safe Manager required.
Experience:
- Professional experience to include department management of human resources, budgets, capital expenditures, business planning, P&P.
- A minimum of five years of management experience in Food & Nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy.
