Job Summary
The Director of Financial Operations will lead a team of Finance managers and analysts in the detailed financial analysis of EyeCare Partners healthcare operations. This role reports directly to the Division Chief Financial Officer, and partners closely with the Ophthalmology leadership teams to drive operational improvements and efficiencies. This strategic role will be responsible for the effective interpretation of financial information to identify key issues and strategies that support the company's operational plan. Provide substantially improved and actionable recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, consolidate, interpret, and clearly communicate financial data for actuals, forecasts, and budgets to division leaders.
- Understand and contribute to rapidly changing business models, drive collaboration across teams, develop recommendations on strategic investment decisions, and partner with business leaders to solve problems and achieve goals.
- Assess our overall performance and assist in establishing appropriate KPIs; make performance improvement recommendations to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence Analysts in developing dashboard visualization of KPIs
- Develop financial and operational reports, models using Excel; familiarity with SAP, PowerBI and Adaptive Planning a strong plus
- Develop financial business plans and forecasts. Utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans. Works with division leadership to update/recast projections providing an accurate view of expected results
- Drives and owns budgeting process with practice leadership, building a credible budget and defined path to execution
- Drive financial planning processes related to headcount and OpEx planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Build financial models for strategic initiatives across the Ophthalmology division such as Cost Synergy initiatives and Labor Initiatives
- Other ad hoc requests/special projects consistent with company objectives
Education & Experience Requirements
- 4 years / Bachelor's Degree (Accounting or Finance)
- Post Graduate Degree (MBA or CPA Preferred)
- 5+ years' experience in a financial analyst role, management experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, customer service and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with C-suite level leadership
- Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, and ability to execute despite ambiguity
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and teammate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability for basic to intermediate problem solving, including mathematics
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- High Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- SQL, Alteryx, Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau, SAP
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct a team of Finance Managers and Analysts
- Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
