Overview:Our Director of Finance is responsible for providing financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing the return on investment to the owners and Viceroy Hotel Group. In addition, creates and executes a business plan that is aligned with the property and brand's business strategy and focuses on the execution of financial and accounting activities and the delivery of desirable results. The Director of Finance reports directly to the General Manager and is a member of the Executive Committee team.
Responsibilities:- Develop initiatives to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
- Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans.
- Think creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new business plans.
- Creates the annual operating budget for the property.
- Provides analytical support during budget and P&L reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for property managers.
- Implement a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks.
- Ensures a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability.
- Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan which is aligned with the company’s and brand’s strategic direction.
- Produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react proactively to changes in the business.
- Utilize interpersonal communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; and leads by example.
- Leverage strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team, the property's strategies and to lead the finance department.
- Prioritize responsibility as a member of the senior leadership team, ensuring that training and mentorship are carried out within the department and throughout the hotel.
- Manages communication with owners in an effective manner.
- Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand SOPs and owner requirements.
- Ensure that the P&L is accurate (e.g., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts).
- Knowledge of local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (local GAAP)
- Ability to read and understand basic contract elements, e.g. royalty fees, management agreement, terms, priorities and profit distribution.
- Business Acumen - Understanding and utilizing business information (e.g., data used in the VHG Balanced Scorecard related to Colleague surveys, Guest Satisfaction, and Property Financial Performance) to manage everyday operations and generate innovative solutions to approach business and administrative challenges

Qualifications:- Five years minimum financial management experience in a lifestyle, full-service environment with Food and Beverage operations.
- Previous experience working with third party ownership groups preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $130,000-$150,000 based on experience.
