Location: Fairfax, VA (4/1 schedule: Onsite 4 days per week)
Compensation: 160,000-180,000 + bonus and LTI

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Director of Finance with expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Sales Analytics on behalf of a client in Fairfax, VA. Our client is an industry leader within their space backed by an impressive PE firm with big goals for this organization. As the Director of Finance, this individual will oversee the organization’s financial health by driving forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes, while also providing insights into sales performance to inform strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with the ability to synthesize financial data and sales metrics into actionable strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct variance analysis to understand financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and board members.
- Partner with the sales team to analyze performance metrics, customer trends, and market data.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track sales KPIs such as pipeline performance, revenue growth, and conversion rates.
- Provide actionable insights to improve sales strategies, pricing models, and territory planning.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to align financial goals with sales objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing data-driven recommendations on investments, growth opportunities, and cost management.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations) to ensure financial alignment across business units.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance and analytics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Implement and refine financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial planning and reporting.
- Leverage advanced analytics and technology to optimize forecasting and data visualization.
- Drive initiatives to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, including FP&A and sales analytics.
- Experience within industries such as professional services and human capital consulting.
- Prior experience working for PE backed organizations is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Expertise in sales analytics, pipeline management, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Advanced experience in SalesForce administration preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution.
