About the Job
We are seeking a seasoned financial leader to join our dynamic team as the Director of Finance / Chief Financial Officer at a prestigious public health school. This role is pivotal in guiding the financial strategy and operations of the school, ensuring fiscal health and compliance through effective management of all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and direct the school's day-to-day financial operations including financial forecasting, budgeting, purchasing, and accounts payable management.
Oversee and manage all funding sources including general funds, operational funds, sales and service funds, overhead funds, as well as gifts and endowments.
Implement and interpret financial policies and procedures, ensuring they meet current standards and regulations.
Supervise the central contracts and grants managed within the Finance Office.
Coordinate the annual budget process, engaging with department administrators and fund managers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Review, develop, and maintain robust financial systems and business processes, enhancing financial controls and compliance across the school.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in an academic or public sector environment.
Strong ability to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Knowledge of complex funding sources and financial management in a similarly complex institution.
Demonstrated ability in developing financial policies, process improvements, and systems enhancements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and lead diverse teams.
