We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance who will play a crucial role in our company's financial success. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with start-up experience, a sharp analytical mind, and a deep understanding of financial reporting and accounting. This role will be instrumental in shaping our business strategy, budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and financial analysis. The Director of Finance will also be responsible for leading strategic financial planning initiatives, leveraging their expertise in QuickBooks Online.
Responsibilities
As the Permanent Director of Finance, you will:
1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Use analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address financial challenges and opportunities.
3. Develop and implement strategic financial plans to achieve the company's long-term goals.
4. Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and compliant with regulations.
5. Use QuickBooks Online for managing and maintaining financial records, as well as generating financial reports.
6. Collaborate with other departments to align financial management with short and long-term operational strategies.
7. Monitor and control the flow of cash in and out of the business to meet operational needs and company objectives.
8. Conduct financial analysis, prepare detailed reports, and present findings and recommendations to company leadership.
9. Develop and implement robust financial risk management strategies.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Permanent Director of Finance position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in a start-up environment.
3. Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Proven experience in strategic financial planning and financial analysis.
5. Proficient in QuickBooks Online and other financial management software.
6. Exceptional problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
7. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
8. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a capacity to engage, motivate, and lead a high-performing finance team.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
10. Strong business acumen and understanding of strategic business considerations.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
