About the Job
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Director of Accounting and Finance ensures the financial health of SaverLife, enabling the organization to expand its impact, innovate its programs, and support members’ financial well-being. As the organization’s senior-most financial team member, the Director will oversee all financial functions and strategy, including supporting the Executive team in developing and realizing organizational objectives and assisting in developing strategic plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Management (60%)
Ensure accurate monthly financial statements, including monthly executive reports, quarterly board presentations, committee presentations, and other dashboards as needed.
Execute full cycle accounting process including A/P, payroll and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with GAAP Accounting standards, including ASC 958, and provide oversight to staff on grant and restricted fund reporting.
Cash Management, Budget, and Audit (20%)
Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with senior leadership.
Administer and review all financial plans and budgets.
Monitor progress and changes.
Keep senior leadership appraised of the organization’s financial status.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process and 990 completion, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary
Strategy & Operational Excellence (20%)
Create, own, and execute the organization’s financial and investment strategy, advising executive leadership and the Board on key strategic issues and decisions, informed by rigorous financial analyses and assessments.
Assess financial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to mitigate risk and ensure organizational resilience.
Analyze and present financial reports accurately and timely; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments; and oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
Lead long-term financial planning efforts, including multi-year forecasts, scenario planning, and assessing the organization’s financial sustainability.
Ensure the optimization, integration, and proper utilization of financial systems and tools, partnering with internal teams to improve reporting, workflows, and operational efficiency.
Oversee a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
Manage finance team members and/or external contractors to ensure effective execution of financial functions.

What you bring:
A deep understanding of financial management with a strong commitment to SaverLife's mission.
Minimum of seven years of accounting/audit experience, with a portion of that experience within the nonprofit space.
Minimum of two years of management experience
Expertise/experience with ASC 958.
A track record of grants management.
Excellent project and people management skills.
BA./B.S. degree required; Advanced degree desirable. CPA required.
Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Google Suite or similar.
Expertise with Accounting software required, Intacct preferred.
Experience with ADP, Paychex, TriNet or similar.
Experience maintaining and optimizing accounting system features and integrations with Salesforce.
Bill.com and Ramp experience preferred.
