About the Job
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals
- The Director of Federal Grants Accounting will foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Oversee all aspects of federal grants accounting, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and grant requirements
- Prepare and review Federal Financial Reports (FFR) and other required financial reports for federal grantors
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of grant expenditures, including allocation of indirect costs
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close processes for federal grants
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with grant conditions
- Stay updated on changes to federal grant regulations and accounting standards
- Work closely with program managers to understand funding requirements and financial performance
- The Director of Federal Grants Accounting will serve as the primary point of contact for federal agencies and auditors regarding grants-related inquiries
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and the board of directors
Requirements:
- Nonprofit experience
- Managerial experience supervising (how many people experience managing - as long as they have experience directly managing staff)
- Extensive experience with Federal Grants - Federal FFR reporting
- Single Audit experience - done annually
- Some experience with Grants Accounting/monitoring grants payables
- Able to hit the ground running and is comfortable with getting started right away
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
