Director of Equity Derivatives Desk (Oscar Gruss and Son Incorporated, New York, NY): Managing institutional clients on equity derivatives desk, selling and executing equities and options/exchange-listed contracts to new and existing clients (both European and U.S. market); Developing the single stock options and merger arbitrage business; Providing technical and fundamental analysis and customer service in order to increase customer satisfaction; Establish strong business relationships with new clearing and execution facilities (Cheevers, clearport, floor broker located on NYSE, PHLX, PCoast, CBOE) for equities and derivatives products; Recommend and sell solutions from across the firm’s product range to existing and new clients while taking into consideration changes within the equity derivatives market; Review the performance of the copy trading products available to clients for profitability/suitability; Ensure that annual continuing professional development hours under Oscar Gruss training and competence scheme are achieved and that the statement of professional standing is maintained; Ensure that all customers are treated in line with TCF guidelines; Interface with operations/client on-boarding, broker services, trading, and compliance; Build and integrate asset pricing tools and advanced software tools used by the desk; and Manage a book of business in exchange traded equities and options with an annual revenue/P&L exceeding US$1 million. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: Knowledge of the U.S. and European financial markets and regulatory environments; Analytical and sales experience in the equity derivatives industry; Understanding of merger arbitrage deals, their impact on stock market and a capacity to explain it to a client; Ability to use general valuations options methods; Capacity to execute single stock and index options transactions; Knowledge of trading platforms and middle and back office operations; Track record of working in a fast-paced environment driven by sales metrics and departmental goals; Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills; Ability to demonstrate risk awareness and risk management skills; Strong computer skills and platforms knowledge and experience, including extensive knowledge of Bloomberg, Symphony, ICE, UTS vectalis, Swapswire, Pivot, and CScreen; Ability to develop tools in Excel VBA; Ability to use trading system (WEX platform, dash platform); Experience evaluating Equity derivatives markets volatility to enhance current markets and maintain market share within over-the-counter and exchange traded markets; and Experience facilitating trading on Equity derivatives market, including utilizing knowledge of vanilla options, total returns swaps, and dividend products. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or related field and at least one year of experience as a Derivatives Sales Trader or related occupation. In the alternative, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the above-mentioned field and occupation is required. Travel required: 20% to Europe.
