About the Job
Provide leadership for the Shop, Warehouse, and Equipment Maintenance teams including successfully coordinating and directing all activities within the department, all while ensuring that all employees under their operational control comply with client, government and corporate policies and procedures. This position focuses on the financial business side of our Equipment Shops and Warehouse departments ensuring that the repairs and maintenance of equipment is done within budget. This position will drive equipment maintenance and warehouse initiatives, processes, and programs.
Location & Travel Details: This is an office-based position, based in one of our offices in Indianapolis, IN, Clinton, IN or Fargo, ND with occasional travel up to 20%.

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:- Lead the Shop, Warehouse, and Equipment Maintenance
- Support the Equipment Asset Management team in the decision-making concerning repair vs salvage on company equipment
- Ensure the repair, maintenance and renting of assets does not exceed or affect the budget
- Drive new initiatives concerning small tools, capitalized tooling, and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Maintain vendor relationships in existing and emerging markets
- Provide direction and receive input from all Business Unit Managers concerning equipment
- Negotiate the procurement (rental, lease, or purchase) of equipment contracts with vendors pertaining to tools, supplies, and parts used by the shops and warehouse teams
- Review the equipment needs of all projects, work with Equipment Admins to create purchase orders and coordinate the procurement of the determined equipment needed
- Ensure equipment maintenance is kept at optimum level according to processes and standards to lessen costs and down time
- Implement and maintain a plan to accurately track utilization and location of all MasTec Renewables tooling, rigging, and other non-equipment material assets
- Develop and implement work rules and best practices for the activities of storage yards, shops, warehouses and tooling program
- Discuss location of repairs with Director-Equipment Field Support to ensure availability, timeline, shipping, etc.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- Seven to ten years’ experience in an equipment, shop, or related role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks
- Strong administrative and time management skills
- Basic Heavy Equipment knowledge
- Ability to solve problems
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
