We are a large community in VA covering 2600 acres with over 4200 lots. We have a 500-acre lake with fishing, a USGA golf course with a pro shop, cafe, clubhouse, equestrian center, multiple pools, gym, tennis courts, and more.
We are seeking a Director of Environmental Resources to partner with our leadership team. You will be primarily responsible for lake and dam management and overall water quality.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the organization's environmental resources, including lakes, ponds, watersheds, and other aquatic ecosystems.
- Conduct regular assessments of water quality and aquatic vegetation, and develop strategies to maintain and improve these conditions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental risks, including those related to algae and other organisms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable practices.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on environmental performance, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on lake management and aquatic ecology.
- Certified Lake Manager (CLM) certification is preferred.
- A degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of watershed management, lakes, ponds, or aquatic vegetation.
- Proven experience in managing and mitigating environmental risks in a financial setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex environmental issues and strategies to a wide range of stakeholders.
