Job Summary: A leading organization is seeking a Director of Environmental Compliance in Houston, Texas. This role will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling environmental hazards, advising management on federal, state, and local regulations, and ensuring operational compliance across the company’s facilities. The Director will minimize company liability by ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and support facility operations. Additionally, this role involves leading the company's Responsible Care Program and managing a dedicated team of environmental professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure all equipment and processes meet environmental standards.
- Oversee environmental audits across company locations to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Lead the company’s Responsible Care Program, ensuring compliance and maintaining partnership status.
- Prepare and lead regulatory audits related to hazardous waste, air emissions, and wastewater discharges.
- Supervise a team, including Senior Environmental Engineer, Senior Environmental Compliance Specialists, and Regional Environmental Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance, with a strong background in policy development and implementation.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams and overseeing audits across multiple locations.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Willingness to travel as needed and wear safety equipment.
