Job Description: Director of Manufacturing Engineering

General Description and Job Duties:
The Director of Manufacturing Engineering will establish and lead the manufacturing engineering function within the organization. This role is pivotal in advancing the company’s manufacturing processes by optimizing techniques, tooling, and methodologies. The goal is to enhance productivity, improve quality, simplify processes, and eliminate errors to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and analyzing current manufacturing processes, techniques, and tooling.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in productivity, quality, and process reliability.
- Implementing advanced methodologies and tools to streamline manufacturing processes.
- Driving initiatives to deskill processes, making them easier to execute while maintaining precision and quality.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of engineering and manufacturing objectives.
- Developing and managing a team to support manufacturing engineering goals and initiatives.
- Cost justification of Capex projects, getting approval and implementation
- Validate the improvement projects with data and ensure sustainability.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and continuously improve process efficiency and outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned per business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and tooling methodologies. 5 years in the leadership position to drive improvements.
- Proven ability to lead and establish new functions or departments within an organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing methods, process optimization, and error reduction strategies.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
