Hasbro is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Engineering for our Outdoor Sports Action Category inclusive of the iconic Nerf and Super Soaker brands. A successful candidate will provide leadership and bring fresh insight to a team of dedicated engineers charged with driving innovation, design for manufacture, and product quality/ performance standards to our consumers that they have come to expect from the Nerf and Super Soaker brands. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Nerf and Super Soaker, ensuring that our products continue to captivate and delight consumers around the world!

A day in the life as a Director of Engineering NERF, SUPER SOAKER, & SPORTS ACTION

• Leading, mentoring, and developing the engineering team to ensure business and related project goals and objectives are met.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure seamless product development and successful launches of products that are technically sound, performance-tested and consumer validated.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept ideation to production and beyond.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in product development.
• Ensure budgets and resources align with timelines to meet business objectives and deliver products on schedule.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitive products, and consumer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field; master’s degree a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering or product development leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering innovative consumer products, preferably in the toy industry.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with partners at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in managing Design-to-Value processes, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements throughout the product life cycle.
• Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, creative, and deadline-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect and influence at all levels across multiple disciplines.
