We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Engineering & Maintenance for our Rehabilitation & Nursing facility. Must have Skilled Nursing Facility experience. This position provides direction, supervision and coordination for the areas and services provided by Engineering, Maintenance and Biomeical Engineering and ensures the integrity of the physical plant and other physical properties of the facility. This position requires an individual with 5-7 years of experience in Maintenance and Engineering in a healthcare setting with 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role. The position also requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes inspection and maintenance schedules and ensures the timely completion and appropriate documentation.
- Provides overall direction for the Maintenance, Engineering and Biomedical Engineering services
- Arranges and reviews purchasing requests, utilization of outside contractors and proposals from external vendors.
- Develops departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance with these, as well as with fire and safety regulations and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Supervises appropriate staff and monitors staff performance
- Develops, implements and monitors the department's Quality Assurance Program.
- Develops, implements and monitors a preventive program for all equipment utilized in direct resident care as well as in the maintenance of the facility.
- Supervises and/or coordinates all renovation, alteration and facility improvement projects.
- Provides input into the purchase and subsequent placement of equipment
- Develops and appropriately updates and provides facility wide in-service
- Actively participates in committee and facilty meetings, as required
