Director of Educational Services Overview
The Director of Educational Services will play a critical role in leading and managing Melmark New England's Stoughton school program. This individual will work closely with the Director of Program Administration and Clinical Services to oversee educational, clinical, and operational services. The Director is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEPs), licensing, and certification requirements, while developing programs from the ground up, including staff hiring and training. This position requires strong clinical skills, supervisory experience, and a deep understanding of regulatory standards.
Director of Educational Services Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
- Severe Special Education or Special Education Administrator license by MA DESE is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of administrative and organizational supervision in an applied community setting.
Director of Educational Services Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the classroom educational services and behavioral programming.
- Ensure the successful implementation of IEPs and monitor program instruction.
- Hire, train, and supervise educational and support staff.
- Maintain compliance with DESE-approved private school regulations.
- Develop and lead new educational programs, including curriculum implementation in coordination with Special Education Teachers.
- Manage the supervision and evaluation of Educational ABA Counselors and education support staff.
- Provide direct treatment services and supervision in school settings, ensuring programmatic integrity.
- Collaborate with state personnel to maintain appropriate licensing and certifications for the program.
- Ensure adherence to Melmark’s behavior management and behavior intervention strategies.
- Participate in research projects and professional development, submitting at least one applied project for publication annually.
