This position will be based in either The Post and Courier's Columbia or Charleston offices.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a strategic partner to The Post and Courier advertising sales, account services, and King & Columbus teams, providing thought leadership and adoption of digital marketing solutions for client campaigns; solutions including web development and maintenance, CRM management, SEO, PPC, paid and organic social, streaming video, streaming audio, targeted email marketing, display, etc.
- Increase digital services revenue by forging strong relationships with advertising and agency department leadership.
- Collaborate with King & Columbus President to enhance paid media offerings, solidifying our position as a premier provider of targeted media solutions for clients.
- Oversee the strategic planning, trafficking, and optimization of high-investment campaigns, maintaining a focus on performance and profitability.
- Define standards and enforce adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) for the trafficking of marketing campaigns and reporting, maintaining a high level of performance and accountability.
- Partner with the analytics team to cultivate a robust campaign reporting infrastructure that produces high quality campaign reports & analysis to aid in client retention.
- Lead, guide, coach and develop our team of campaign traffickers and digital strategists, ensuring precise forecasting, scheduling, troubleshooting, and performance analysis of marketing campaigns.
- Implement campaign management protocols for campaign traffickers to check in and optimize marketing campaigns.
- Generate synergy across marketing operations, sales, and account services, ensuring account onboarding, billing and campaign trafficking is done so efficiently.
- Develop and disseminate training materials and best practices, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in internal brainstorm sessions for prospective and current client strategy recommendations
- Develop comprehensive marketing solution proposals for K&C or The Post and Courier teams to present to clients.
- Join discovery meetings, strategy presentations, client onboarding and reporting calls as needed.
- Serve as lead strategist and a primary point of contact for K&C’s agency white-label partnerships.
- Stay at the forefront of marketing technology, leading the assessment and integration of new tools or partners to enhance campaign or process efficacy.
- Conduct trainings for King & Columbus and The Post and Courier staffs on digital tactics, new product offerings, and digital trafficking processes and best practices.
- Responsible for the financial success of the media buying solutions provided to clients, ensuring these offerings are as profitable as they are effective; this includes providing recommendations on and continually reviewing pricing and corresponding profit margins.
- Manage relationships of all third-party media buying and sales enablement partners.
Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a managerial role within marketing or advertising operations, with a substantial focus on digital campaign strategy and execution.
- Minimum 2-3 years in account management of agency and/or digital marketing accounts, including but not limited to client acquisition, onboarding, reporting and retention.
- Expert-level proficiency with Google's advertising suite, Facebook Ads Manager, and demand-side platforms.
- Deep understanding of GA4, SEO, Wordpress, and conversion metrics.
- A comprehensive understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem and conversion tracking methodologies.
- Proven ability to traffic, optimize and report on marketing campaign performance.
