Director of Development- Houston, TX 77027Responsibilities:

- Identify and develop new funding opportunities that align with the companys overall strategy.
- Establish and monitor annual development plan with President & CEO, Funding Co-Chairs, and Board of Directors.
- Engage new annual donors and will work closely with the Director of Donor Development to stewarded existing donors to increase giving year-over-year.
- Prioritize funding needs and develop a case for support aimed to educate and inspire others to give to the company.
- Identify and work directly with organizations/ prospects with major gift potential and produce accurate documentation in regard to the companys grant requests.
- Draft and edit proposals, grant applications, program reports and acknowledgement letters to generate revenue, community impact, and attract and retain donors.
- Create and maintain a database and portfolios of potential donors and prospects including corporations, foundations, and individuals to ensure accurate tracking of donors, giving history, and donor recognition.
- Secure corporate and individual sponsorships for annual the company Gala with the Special Events Director.
- Extra support on all fundraising events, especially the annual Gala, is expected.
- Prepare routine correspondence and responses to requests for information from sponsors, agencies, and institutions.
- Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
- Construct graphs and reports to convey strategies and needs of the organization.
- All of the above duties and responsibilities are under the guidance and complete under sight of the President and CEO.
- Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
- Must have experience using Donor databases and portfolios such as Donor Perfect.
- Experience designing and managing fundraising events will work with the Special Events Director.
- Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving.
- Proven ability to think strategically, problem-solve and manage multiple projects.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability to approach tasks creatively and consistently meet deadlines.
- Donor and volunteer service mentality.
- Superb written and oral communications skills.
- Energetic, flexible, and a team player.
- Excellent time management and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
