Department Summary: The Counseling & Wellness Center provides holistic services to enrolled students, including counseling, wellness programming, and crisis intervention.
Position Overview: We seek a Director to lead Counseling and Wellness Services, supporting our mission to transform lives through quality education.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in counseling or related field, five years of experience, or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of university policies and Texas regulations.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication with diverse populations.
- Ability to build relationships and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or ABD in a related field with two years of experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and student service orientation.
- Experience in a university counseling setting preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Required License: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required; LPC-S preferred.
Job Duties:
- Oversee daily operations and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Participate in Student Affairs Leadership Team.
- Supervise counseling staff and interns.
- Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention.
Work Schedule: Weekdays 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings.
