About the Role
The Director of Communications will be the voice of Roots Automation, tasked with amplifying our story and vision across multiple platforms, channels, and audiences. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate communications, content creation, media relations, and internal communications. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who is adept at both high-level messaging and detailed content execution. You thrive in fast-paced environments and can balance strategic thought leadership with day-to-day execution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in media relations, content strategy, and corporate communications, especially in the fast-growth technology environments. You will collaborate closely with marketing, product, and leadership teams to raise the brand's profile both in the U.S. and globally, while solidifying our position as an authority in AI and the insurance sector.
Responsibilities include:
Public Relations & Media Relations:
· Lead and manage all public relations and media efforts to enhance the visibility of Roots Automation across key media channels.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry analysts to drive positive media coverage
Corporate & Brand Communications:
· Develop and manage the overall content strategy, ensuring it aligns with our brand’s vision, mission, and goals.
· Oversee content production for corporate communications, including blogs, press releases, white papers, podcasts, and videos
· Ensure messaging consistency across all content and communications materials.
Research & Positioning:
· Coordinate and commission research that inform show we position our brand within the insurance and AI industries.
· Analyze industry trends and competitor messaging to refine our position as a thought leader in InsurTech.
Thought Leadership:
· Collaborate with internal and external experts to create and publish thought leadership pieces that reinforce our reputation as an expert in AI and the insurance sector.
· Produce and distribute high-quality thought leadership content, such as white papers, case studies, blogs, and articles, to key audiences.
Brand & Leadership Profile Elevation:
· Develop and execute strategies to raise the profile of Roots Automation and its senior leadership team across the U.S. and globally.
· Leverage media, public relations, and content to increase visibility and credibility in the insurance and AI sectors.
Internal Communications:
· Manage internal communications to ensure alignment between departments and foster a cohesive company culture.
· Produce and distribute internal newsletters, updates, and announcements.
GTM Campaigns & Product Launches:
· Support marketing, product and sales teams in planning and executing GTM campaigns, product launches, and major company announcements.
· Define and manage the company’s social media and influencer strategy, ensuring engagement and growth across relevant platforms.
Requirements
· 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, PR, or a related field, preferably within an InsurTech or B2BSaaS organization.
· Proven success in managing media relations,social media strategies, and content production.
· Strong storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex ideas simply and persuasively
· Demonstrable experience developing and executing integrated communication strategies.
· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
· Exceptional writing, editing, and proof reading skills with a keen attention to detail.
· Experience working with marketing technology and communication tools such as HubSpot.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
