GENERAL FUNCTION: As the Director of Cloud and Security Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our cloud and security strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cloud infrastructure management, as well as security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and compliance. You will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. You will lead a talented team of AWS Cloud engineers and security professionals, driving collaboration and innovation to deliver best-in-class solutions that enable our customers to succeed in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape. Your leadership will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining a robust security posture, enabling us to effectively mitigate risks and respond to emerging threats.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and mentor a team of AWS cloud and security engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Develop and model a culture of security within the organization.
Develop and iterate on security roadmaps to align with business objectives.
Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with business objectives.
Establish a Cloud Center of Excellence to establish and champion cloud best practices across the organization.
Lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor and analyze cloud performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and scalability.
Oversee the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and controls to protect our systems, data, and infrastructure.
Manage monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of our business.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security into how we develop software and operate in cloud environments.
Champion optimization opportunities, improve performance, and drive cost efficiencies.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and assess their potential impact on our operations and infrastructure.
Stay abreast of emerging threats and security trends and assess their impact on our cloud and security operations.
Drive automation and optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in both cloud and security operations.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cloud and security-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Support business RFP responses and Go To Market activities as it relates to Alchemy security posture and operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree computer science, information technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in cloud computing and cybersecurity.
4+ years of AWS experience.
At least 5 years in leadership roles.
Proven track record of leading security operations, including SOC management, threat detection, and incident response.
Deep understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and industry best practices.
Experience designing and operating solutions in cloud-native environments.
Deep understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices.
Deep technical expertise in security technologies, tools, and protocols, with hands-on experience in threat detection and incident handling.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
Proven track record of driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Experience with data privacy practices and regulations (PCI, PII, PHI, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
Experience in risk management and able to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
Managing and maintaining multi-tenant B2B and B2C Web and Mobile applications.
Experience hiring and developing technical and non-technical staff.
Experience operating within budgets, developing team members, and developing future leaders.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
A master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related major.
Experience with Cloud and Security vendor management and vendor selection.
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC)
AWS Certified Cloud Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security Specialist
Proficiency in cloud automation and orchestration tools.
Experience with Learning Management software
