About the Job
A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Director of Clinical Services for a promising opportunity with their growing team in Queens. In this role, the Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for working to assist the Program Director by providing comprehensive clinical and social services to the residents, and administrative support to the program.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm + one late day 11am-7pm
- Setting: Domestic Violence Shelter
Responsibilities:
The Director of Clinical Services will:
- Provide individual and group supervision to staff
- Coordinate staff training, case conferences, and other opportunities for the professional development of staff
- Conduct mental health assessments by completing comprehensive functional evaluations
- Develop, monitor and facilitate groups for residents
- Assist with client service hotlines, as needed
- Coordinate mental health/psychiatric care and referrals
- Provide brief psychotherapy for clients (individuals and families)
- Develop a network of appropriate resources, including community base organizations and social services providers
- Monitor resident records for compliance and best practices, including regular review of progress notes and service plans
- Assist with required reports and program evaluations as needed
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working with victims of Domestic Violence that are experiencing Trauma, Poverty, and/or Homelessness.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a comparable clinical degree and license
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of Supervisory experience
- LMSW or LMHC preferred
- NYS Licensed Master Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor accepted
