About The Role
At Curi RMB Capital, we are driven to deliver superior investment outcomes for our clients which range from high-net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families to foundations, corporations, universities, and other institutional clients.
As the Director of Business Development, you will be a key member of our sales leadership team. You will be responsible for leading people, establishing processes, and driving business results within the custodial referral program. You will directly manage a team of high-performing Business Development Leaders focused on revenue and profitability growth through three main client referral platforms: custodial partners, retirement plan solutions and healthcare professionals. Your team dedicated to custodial partners will be responsible for converting those referrals to clients. You will oversee all aspects of the sales function, including team leadership, strategic planning, business development, and leveraging data to enhance sales processes. You will be responsible for training, mentoring, and coaching new and tenured team members to consistently achieve strong results.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to maximize individual and collective success.
- Recruit, hire and develop high-performing sales leaders to execute and achieve deliverables and performance targets.
- Regularly participate in in-person and virtual meetings held by the BDOs with custodial partners (branch meetings/client events) and referred individual investors throughout the sales process to provide ongoing coaching to the BDO team.
Data-Driven Performance Management
- Establish clear sales targets, metrics, and KPIs, and continuously monitor performance against goals, taking proactive measures to address any gaps or challenges.
- Utilize data analytics and insights to inform decision-making, optimize sales processes, and drive continuous improvement across the sales organization.
- Drive annual improvements in team sales efficiency, conversion rates and new BDO ramp time.
Sales Process & Strategy Development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, evolve, and optimize sales processes, leveraging data-driven insights to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and achieve business objectives.
- Advocate for BDOs Internally to enhance sales processes and results.
- Work with BDO team to determine areas of inefficiency in their current approach.
- Work cross-functionally with other internal leaders to overcome and address these challenges.
- Represent BDO needs and share team perspective among the broader growth leadership team.
- Interface with Custodial Partner Leadership to Drive Results.
- Speak with branch managers regularly to understand what is needed to excel.
Key Skills

Key Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in business; finance, economics or related
- Minimum 10 years in Financial Services sales
- Minimum 5 years in a senior sales leadership role
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Familiarity with Salesforce and support org functionality
- FINRA Series 65 preferred
- CFP® or other planning designation preferred
Travel Expectations
- Up to 25% - 50% travel
