WVP is seeking a Director of Business Development to join our team and drive expansion strategy through add-on acquisitions. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this role will identify, analyze, and integrate acquisition opportunities, playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth. . We are seeking candidates located in the Eastern United States open to a work schedule that includes heavy travel. He/she will play a key role in facilitating the Company’s growth and have the following specific responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of regional markets, including veterinary practices, market potential, and emerging trends.
- Serve as a liaison with industry representatives, local veterinary medical associations and other professional organizations within the territory.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Associate team to create and implement market-specific plans to drive lead generation and meet acquisition targets.
- Identify, monitor, and build a pipeline of partnership opportunities with veterinary practice owners in the assigned region.
- Represent WVP at networking events and conferences to strengthen relationships and enhance visibility.
To thrive in this position candidates need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, with a strong track record in financial analysis, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Proven success in sales or business development roles, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Experience using CRM systems; Salesforce expertise is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with exceptional follow-through skills and a competitive, self-motivated mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively (50–70% overnight, including some weekends).
- Residency within one hour of a major airport or willingness to relocate to the assigned territory.
Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The base compensation range for this opportunity is $130,000 - $140,000 annually plus commission. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
