Success in this role requires combining technical acumen, federal contracting expertise, and a talent for building strong client relationships while driving a collaborative and solutions oriented culture.
Responsibilities
- Capture Planning & Execution: Lead capture efforts for targeted opportunities, developing and implementing strategies to win contracts and positioning the company for larger scale opportunities

- Strategic Solution Development: Work closely with technical and operational teams to craft tailored solutions for client needs, leveraging broad technical knowledge of trends like cloud computing, DevSecOps, and other relevant areas
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor while delivering value driven solutions aligned with client goals
- Strategic Insight & Market Positioning: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and client priorities to adapt and optimize BD strategies, shaping the company's narrative for larger scale opportunities
- Team and Organizational Alignment: Assess team capabilities, identify areas for growth, and align capture efforts with company strengths to maximize success
- Provide proposal department information needed for alignment with client requirements, competitive positioning, and high quality submissions, while fostering collaboration across team
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience, preferably in business development, capture management, or a related field, with at least five years focused on federal contracting in small to medium business settings
- Demonstrated success in leading captures for prime contracts in the $2–5M/year range and positioning for larger opportunities, particularly in the DoD sector (Army and Air Force experience strongly preferred)
- Technical acumen with a broad understanding of service offerings, solution development, and trends relevant to federal agencies
- Proven experience leading and mentoring junior teams, fostering their growth while maintaining accountability for high level individual contributions
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage clients and internal teams effectively and strategically
- Experience thriving in a fast paced, small business environment, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands on execution
- Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or financial fields (advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus)
- A proactive approach to engaging with clients, teams, and leadership to drive business results
We are a company on the rise, with a proven track record of successful prime contracts and a vision to scale to the next level. Joining our team means becoming a critical part of our growth journey, working alongside a collaborative and dedicated group of professionals who value innovation, mentorship, and meaningful contributions.
