- Prior Director experience
- Progressive management experience leading business application planning and implementation with knowledge of business workflows, application requirements, automation needs, analytics requirements, and technology opportunities
- Ability to help customers/partners to define and implement operational process improvements
- Working knowledge of HR, Finance, Materials, Supply Chain, Legal, Facilities, and other business application domains
- Understanding of Business Intelligence solutions relative to enterprise business applications.
- Develop the strategic roadmap and tactical plans for business applications and applications development.
- Ensures business application plans and projects actively support strategic priorities such as Operational Excellence, Growth and Partnerships, Quality and Safety, Research and Population Health.
- Refine and facilitate business applications governance structures and sub-committees to ensure alignment of projects and resources with key business priorities.
- Develop and maintain annual capital and operating budgets, staffing plans and manage professional development plans.
- Coordinate the supporting activities across the organization to successfully execute against plans.
- Optimize and fully leverage business applications and systems implemented to date.
- Implement new systems, upgrade current systems and interface business applications with other applications, as needed, throughout the enterprise.
- Drive enterprise-wide departmental efficiencies through workflow automation and analytics.
- Align with and actively support enterprise data governance efforts in order to ensure source data integrity from business applications.
- Drive the evaluation of requirements and the selection of new business applications and solutions.
- Help negotiate contracts and manage vendors to complete deliverables as promised.
- Develop managers and leaders within the business applications department.
- Partners with other IT leaders and functions such as Infrastructure and Technology Services (ITS), the program management office (PMO) and the data warehouse teams in order to deliver services to our partners and customers throughout the enterprise.
- Partners closely with executives and leaders to understand automation and analytics requirements and marshal the resources necessary to deliver those requirements.
- Establishes departmental KPI's and ensures they are published and communicated to the business applications governance committees.
- Ensures departmental adherence to systems development life cycle methodologies (SDLC), ITIL best practices, and other best practices throughout the enterprise.
- Maintains overall accountability for business applications and application development programs, offerings and services.
- Stays abreast of regulatory changes, technology developments and industry changes that present challenges and opportunities and prepare teams to respond.
