Who we’re looking for:
Director of Budgets and Grants is the primary responsibility of this position is the management of all grant agreements, contractual requirements, general ledger reconciliation, invoices and submission on a monthly, quarterly and annual budget as determined by each funding source. This position will also be crossed trained on the various aspects of the Budgets and Grants Management department responsibilities included but not limited to agency annual budget process, rate increase requests, audit procedures, government reporting, subsidiary financial procedures, and special projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reconciliation of grant information in the general ledger, preparation and submission of grant invoicing, annual audit requirements as related to grants, management reporting and audit coordination, and miscellaneous financial and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:Your responsibilities in this role may include:
- Prepare accurate and timely annual grant submission and periodic invoicing per the instructions of the funding source(s).
- Maintain a working knowledge of all contracts as pertains to the department.
- Training and education in all up to date governmental requirements and regulations as pertaining to the Budgets and Grants Department and drug/alcohol treatment field.
- Supervising a team for the preparation of invoices for program funded programs and certain fee for services invoices. Maintain relationships with representatives of the funding sources related to the program funding.
- Maintain positive and regular communication and relationships with outside funding sources.
- Prepare the annual preparation of the Schedule of Federal Awards, federal indirect cost rate, cost allocation method and supporting the annual audit for the agency.
- Supporting the finance department recording monthly revenue and expenses for the funded programs.
- Actively cross train on all aspects of the Director of Budgets and Grants job duties including but not limited to: the grant obligations outlined above, annual agency budget preparation process, financial processes of two large subsidiaries and special projects.
- Special projects as assigned by the Controller, CFO and/or Executive Management.

Qualifications:Qualifications for this role:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related field, plus specialized training as required (e.g., nonprofit, grant administration, behavioral health etc.). CPA, MBA a plus.
Experience: Five (5) years in progressively responsible and varied program arrangement or staff work in a multi-modality public or private organization, including experience in administration, grant management, fiscal departments, office procedures, policy development, and proposal writing
Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of treatment, prevention, and rehabilitative techniques as they relate to drug and/or alcohol and mental health programs.
- Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn and utilize various electronic programs including, but not limited to, the electronic health system and accounting systems.
- Thorough knowledge of computer software and management information systems. MIP and/or Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office 365 a plus.
- Knowledge with governmental drawdown portals such as Payment Management Systems (PMS), HUD, and eRA Commons.
- Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations related to non-profits, drug & alcohol, and mental health.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting and financial management including general ledger Ability to conduct and interpret research.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, representatives from other agencies, and the general public.
- Knowledge of grant writing, proposals, reporting, and filings with SAMSHA.
