Job Overview
The Director of Brand + Project Management will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing development and execution of specific product initiatives for an all-natural meat company, based in Elk Grove Village, IL specializing in deli meats, meat sticks, and sausages. As Brand/Project Director, the role requires strong leadership skills, brand development, and strategic expertise in managing natural food and CPG brands. This role includes managing the brand’s identity across packaging and multiple product launches while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements including the USDA. The position will collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, design, production, and communications to ensure cohesive messaging and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Management: Oversee and advise on the brand identity as it relates to current and upcoming products, to ensure consistency across all packaging and brand efforts.
Project Management: Lead the development and launch of new products from concept to shelf, coordinating between internal teams and external vendors.
Packaging & Design: Work closely with the design team and external agencies to create innovative, compliant packaging designs. Manage packaging updates, including working with printing companies to ensure quality control.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for printing, packaging materials, and design services ensuring deadlines and budget requirements are met.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor products and adapt branding strategies accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales R&D, and operations team to align product development with market demands and operational capacities. Oversee select customer communications.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
- 5-7 years experience in strategic project management, brand development or related role in the food industry, preferably in natural and/or meat products across grocery, convenience stores and foodservice.
- Strong understanding of printing processes and packaging design
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with industry regulations related to natural food products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet key deadlines.
- Preferred experience with e-commerce platforms and online product listings.
- Understanding of sustainable packaging solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of natural food brands.
