Job Summary:
The Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of goods. They also develop, implement, and manage systems, procedures, and policies related to the manufacturing process. This role builds and develops the automation and advanced manufacturing Engineering teams. This role will be accountable to transform current manual production methods into highly efficient automated solutions with less dependency on high skilled labor. The scope will encompass all areas of manufacturing including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
Essential Functions and Activities
- Create and monitor objectives, goals, strategies and KPI's for the AME team in collaboration with the organization's strategy deployment initiatives.
- Partner with product design team to incorporate the latest process/product development, advocate for the simplest, most reliable processes and iterate on the DFM consideration.
- Build and develop multi-site advanced manufacturing engineering team.
Develop and implement production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. - Drive PFMEA and OEE considerations as far upstream in product development as possible.
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Lead and manage a team of advanced manufacturing engineers and automation engineers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product design, plant manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, quality, and supply chain.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technology and processes.
