Our client is seeking a Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to join their dynamic team. This position plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, ensuring manufacturing effectiveness, and supporting new product integration. As a key technical leader, you will oversee the Advanced Manufacturing and Operations Engineering teams and guide the acquisition and deployment of cutting-edge equipment and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and deploying manufacturing equipment, automated work cells, and assembly lines.
- Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) to assess product requirements and ensure compatibility with manufacturing processes.
- Drive initiatives related to new product launches, manufacturing process improvements, and automation technologies.
- Oversee future state automation projects to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve overall process efficiency.
- Contribute to future plant layout planning and capacity management.
- Evaluate and determine the capital equipment needs for new projects, ensuring proper project process flows.
- Manage annual capital budgeting and secure funding for future projects.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Create and implement processes for equipment acquisition, validation, factory acceptance testing, and process repeatability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of engineering management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- 7-10 years if project management experience in custom automation equipment deployment, from concept to completion.
- Experience in capital equipment budgeting and project funding.
- Experience automating manual manufacturing processes to reduce labor, improve quality, and increase throughput.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas such as welding (manual and robotic), assembly, material handling automation, and sheet metal processing.
- Ability to read prints and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic operating systems.
- Expertise in software tools like Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and AutoCAD
