RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Director of Accounting, you will play a vital role in supporting Earth Engineering’s long-term growth. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process Improvement and Team Development
- Implement process improvements, such as digital invoicing and streamlined workflows, to optimize departmental operations, enabling the team to function more effectively
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align the accounting team’s efforts with strategic goals, driving innovation and continuous growth
- Mentor and train the accounting team, fostering professional development and building a pipeline of future leaders who are empowered to contribute
Financial Management
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate billing, collections, and subcontractor payments, maintaining financial precision
- Prepare and review monthly billing drafts, unbilled detail reports, and financial statements, including the P&L statement, to ensure clarity and focus across all financial operations
- Review AIA forms, cash receipts, and employee expenses to maintain accuracy and compliance, aligning all practices with company standards
- Maintain financial records, deposits, and expenses for additional companies under management
Compliance and Reporting
- Handle tax obligations, including quarterly reviews and year-end reporting in collaboration with accountants ensuring all tax-related matters are handled with transparency and in alignment with company goals
- Supervise audit processes and support year-end planning to ensure compliance
** This is an in-person position based in East Norriton, PA (Philadelphia Metro Area). **
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 5+ years of accounting leadership experience (Director level or above)
- 10+ years of accounting or finance experience across various levels
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experienced mentor and trainer
Preferred
- Experience in the engineering, construction, or land development industry
- Familiarity with Deltek and/or QuickBooks software
- Experience in developing, implementing, and analyzing department and company-wide KPIs
- Experience in process optimization
Desired
- Relevant Master’s degree and/or MBA
