Thrive seeks to hire an experienced and dynamic Director of Account Management to lead our high-performing sales team. As a key executive, this individual will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic client relationships, and leading a team of account managers to exceed performance targets. The ideal candidate will have experience guiding a sales team in complex solution selling and have a proven record of exceeding sales targets and goals, ideally within the MSP, cloud, or cybersecurity space. Position Summary
Thrive seeks to hire an experienced and dynamic Director of Account Management to lead our high-performing sales team. As a key executive, this individual will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic client relationships, and leading a team of account managers to exceed performance targets. The ideal candidate will have experience guiding a sales team in complex solution selling and have a proven record of exceeding sales targets and goals, ideally within the MSP, cloud, or cybersecurity space. Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 5 account managers setting sales targets, performance metrics, and strategic goals aligned with the company’s objectives
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to retain existing clients and acquire new accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Analyze customer experience and health metrics, identifying key indicators and trends
- Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer experience
- Conduct high-level negotiations with key clients, establishing and maintaining profitable and long-term relationships
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to anticipate potential opportunities or challenges, adjusting strategies accordingly
- Prepare detailed reports on account status, forecasting, and business development, presenting to senior management and stakeholders
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for the sales department, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and techniques through training, development, and the implementation of best practices
- Act as an escalation point for complex negotiations, optimizing deal structures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. An MBA is preferred
- 7 years of relevant experience in sales or account management, with at least three years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of exceeding sales and retention targets
- Experience with negotiating diverse customer accounts, from SMB to enterprise
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a keen ability to handle complex sales cycles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong client relationships
- Experience working with clients in financial services preferred
