Director / Managing Director - Originations - Selby Jennings

A rapidly growing venture debt firm in California is looking to bring on seasoned originators to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Originate and qualify leads for venture-backed companies as potential clients.
• Meet with prospective clients to assess credit risk and business opportunities.
• Negotiate and propose financing transactions, resulting in signed agreements.
• Participate in due diligence and compile comprehensive reports on potential transactions.
• Present due diligence findings to the Investment Committee and address related queries.
• Maintain ongoing relationships and monitor the financial health of assigned clients.
• Foster new and existing relationships with venture capital firms for mutual business benefits.
• Participate in regular committee meetings to review credit risk and proposed financings.
• Manage restructuring and distressed situations for portfolio company clients.
• Attend industry conferences to promote the company's business.
• Stay updated with industry publications and trends.
• Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience (preferably in venture debt space)
• Strong track record of sourcing deals
