The Director position is part time during the fall and winter seasons working 8 - 12 hours per week and expanding to 40 hours in the spring and summer, ramping-up to the launch and management of the Festival.
Minimum Qualifications:Film Curating and Programming
- Lead and drive the vision and implementation of progressive film programming to engage the community with well-balanced, thought-provoking, entertaining films and related programming.
- Stay connected with outside festival resources and other appropriate organizations to ensure cutting edge programming.
Volunteer Management
- Select and manage a committee of 15-20 people ensuring a balanced representation of the community.
- Schedule and execute weekly committee meetings/film screenings
- Supervise the management of on-site volunteers during events.
Fundraising
- Manage RJFF fundraising campaign and donor relations to ensure proper funding of the event.
- Manage donor stewardship and prospecting throughout the year.
- Work closely with the JCC Development Department.
Marketing
- Plan and manage all festival marketing campaigns including social media, email, USPS mailings, community outreach, onsite marketing, and more.
- Produce all printed materials and marketing assets including the festival brochure.
Event Planning and Program Execution
- Secure necessary licenses and permits for all films.
- Work with venues, venue managers, technical directors, volunteers, and staff to ensure appropriate coordination of festival events and their technical needs.
- Work with box office manager to ensure positive experience and efficient ticketing for festival goers, sponsors, etc.
- Work with the Arts Dept. Managing Director to oversee income and expenses and ensure that the festivals are properly funded and budgeted.

- Previous experience working with lay committees/volunteers

- Work effectively in a fast paced, demanding environment and meet deadlines
- Interface with multiple facets of the community, both professional and lay leaders
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in executing programs from start to finish
- Prior not-for-profit leadership experience
- Prior fundraising and marketing experience
- Strong research and writing skills
- Knowledge of Jewish communal landscape
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic communication, and social media
