General Summary:

GenAI is at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technology to revolutionize industries worldwide.

We are currently seeking a visionary Director of IT Delivery to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in managing a distributed team of GenAI engineers and spearheading the delivery of innovative AI solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with Azure Cognitive Services, Bedrock, or other AI/ML services or frameworks. Direct experience with GenAI or AI is preferred, with a strong IT background and a passion for navigating new technology spaces are encouraged to apply!

Lead and manage a distributed team of GenAI engineers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and project deliverables.

Oversee the delivery of AI solutions, leveraging Azure Cognitive Services, Bedrock, and other relevant technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives, and ensure successful execution.

Serve as a change champion, driving adoption of new technologies and methodologies within the organization.

Navigate a dynamic and ever-evolving IT environment, working on multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency.

Job Specifications:

• Lead initiatives involving GenAI technologies using Azure Cognitive Services, OpenAI or Amazon Q, Textract, and Bedrock or other AI/ML services or frameworks.
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate using Python, NodeJS, fastAPI, Flask and LLM libraries such as LangChain and Llama.
•  Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SageMaker) and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) is a plus. 
• Degree in computer science preferred, or relevant technical experience
• Has 8+ years experience in an IT field, or equivalent relevant work experience
•  Proven leadership in executing IT plans successfully that enable technical or business capabilities and address technology or business priorities.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Lean/Service Management leadership principles.
• Exhibits courage by taking smart risks and encouraging others to do so; empowers innovative approaches by motivating others to be proactive and resourceful.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads functional areas of IT to build, enhance, transform, or support technology and/or business services by successfully delivering on outcomes.
• Engages in strategic planning with business and IT stakeholders to provide direction, guidance or recommendations on technology and architectural considerations.
• Defines a portfolio of change and roadmap. Engages and influences IT and business leaders to ensure the portfolio will deliver agreed business objectives.
• Collaborates with IT leadership across various disciplines, provides guidance, direction or recommendations to address a wide range of business and technology needs with emphasis on optimized, timely and successful delivery.
• In collaboration with the IT VP, initiates and influences relationships with and between key stakeholders involved in the management and implementation of IT plans, acts as a point of contact for stakeholders, planners, designers, and operational business partners.
• Experience in building Generative AI solutions. Identify, assess and develop Generative AI and AI/ML applications by applying key industry tools, techniques, and methodologies
• Applies innovative methods utilizing IT assets and capabilities in alignment with the organization’s strategic direction and tactical plans.
• Highly proficient in applying knowledge of IT’s technology framework(s), technical environment, and cross-organizational IT functions in technical choices for a variety of large, strategic efforts.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$109,100.00-$213,300.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
