Job Title: Director of FP&A
Location: On-site in New York City (5 days/week)
Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Director of FP&A to join a leading global real estate investment firm. This critical role will involve all aspects of financial analysis for a Private Funds portfolio, supporting analytical reporting, financial modeling, and presentations. This position requires strong collaboration with various internal teams including Asset Management, Investor Relations, and Finance Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage knowledge of investment business plans to review quarterly valuations and returns, ensuring alignment with market trends and investment objectives.
- Present quarterly performance and valuations of Private Funds to Investor Relations and other internal groups.
- Lead the oversight of private fund investment valuations, collaborating with Portfolio Management to ensure the use of appropriate fair value methodologies.
- Consolidate annual business plans for investment portfolios, preparing analyses for senior management and investors on how value will be unlocked.
- Maintain and monitor the private fund valuation policy, ensuring the application of sector-specific valuation guidelines.
- Build processes to collect and analyze investment underwriting metrics, providing data to drive future investment decisions.
- Assist Investor Relations and Fundraising teams with complex quantitative investor requests.
- Perform quarterly benchmarking of fund performance against peer groups.
- Manage specific analyses and special projects, working closely with investment teams, portfolio management, and senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 6-9 years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or valuation roles, ideally within the real estate sector.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative work approach.
- Proven ability to handle increasing responsibility and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage complex assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working across all levels of the organization.
- Passion for continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
