Job Summary



The Director of Food & Beverage will be responsible for the overall multi-unit foodservice operation for the A&T Executive Education and Conference Center in Austin, Texas.





Key Responsibilities:



+ Management of high-volume, multi-unit hotel and conference center.


+ Financially accountable for all food and beverage outlets, room service, banquets and culinary operations.


+ Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget, maximizing the return for the Client


+ Ensures that all food and beverage offered is of superior quality.


+ Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs (including EHA)


+ Maintains excellent relationships with employees, guests, and Client as well as other departments within the operation and University.


+ Able to handle responsibility for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures-follows HACCP standards


+ Maintains close communication with the managers under the Food & Beverage Division and other department/division heads.


+ Is an active participant within the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the General Manager. Will work with Controller and General Manager to establish budget in key performance indexes for all F&B units


+ Reviews daily operating results and weekly forecasting and scheduling, taking immediate corrective action if required


+ Maintains high visibility with associates, guests, and client.


+ Conducts daily review of Food & Beverage Division hotel operations with Department Heads.


+ Will attend hotel operational meetings, Food & Beverage departmental meetings, and associate-related events.


+ Reviews annual objectives composed by department heads and monitors progress to completion over coming year.


+ Monitors associate hires and disciplinary actions, spearheading overall recruitment in all F&B areas


+ Mandatory adherence to the Platinum Service process on a daily basis.






Preferred Qualifications:



+ Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and/or Culinary degree


+ A minimum of 10 years progressive hospitality experience is required


+ Demonstrated profit and loss management ability and client relations success is essential


+ Requires operations management experience with purchasing knowledge


+ Excellent communication and computer skills are needed, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite and industry-related systems.


+ The individual must possess a demonstrated ability to manage others, including managers across different disciplines (including frontline associates).


+ Team player, motivator, detail oriented, innovator, and excel in project management
