What you'll do
The Director of Data and Analytics will formulate and implement the organization's data strategy, lead analytics projects, and drive data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This is a pivotal leadership role that necessitates both strategic decision-making and technical proficiency, enabling valuable insights to be derived from data to support business objectives.
The day-to-day
Strategic Leadership
- Create and execute a complete enterprise data and analytics strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in designing analytical approaches to address key business issues.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to plan and develop company goals.
Data Architecture and Management
- Develop and strengthen enterprise data platforms that support end-to-end data and analytics needs.
- Guide the course of data strategies, including acquisition, sources, database design, and data integrity.
- Enforce formal data governance policies to guarantee data quality, security, and compliance.
Analytics and Insights
- Convert data into insights that drive strategic and tactical decision-making.
- Drive the development of measurement frameworks and identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Supervise the development of BI and analytics tools throughout company departments.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Manage cross-functional teams of data analysts, scientists, and engineers.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure the achievement of data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with product teams to develop a central data hub for exploiting rich data resources.
Innovation and Technology
- Assess and execute appropriate analytical approaches, methodologies, and toolsets that drive innovation.
- Experiment with emerging data science methods and resources and share findings with the organization.
- Remain up to date with advances in data architecture, analytics, and management trends.
What you'll need
- Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of successful large-scale data initiatives and cloud migrations, preferably in enterprise-level organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced data techniques such as data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, and data engineering in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Mastery of database design, data modeling, and data warehousing principles, including experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Extensive hands-on experience with cloud-based data architecture, analytics solutions, and major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in data governance, data quality management, and ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong understanding of data security principles and experience implementing data protection measures in cloud environments.
- Proven experience in building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams of data professionals, including data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence C-level executives.
- US Citizenship required.
- Travel to Carlsbad 25% of the time if not local.

Salary range
$166,900.00 - $254,600.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $207,200.00- $300,400.00/ annually.

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
