General Description:
The Director of Aftermarket Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all aftermarket service activities, including Start Up, Warranty, Service Contracts, Rebuild/Retrofit and customer support. This role is pivotal in driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational efficiency within the aftermarket business. The Director will develop and execute strategies to enhance the value proposition of aftermarket services, build strong customer relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive aftermarket services strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives
- Lead and manage the aftermarket services team
- Set performance goals, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement within the department
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Foster strong relationships with key customers to understand their needs and expectations
- Oversee the delivery of exceptional customer service and ensure timely resolution of customer issues
- Work closely with the new unit and parts sales teams to identify opportunities for aftermarket service sales and support
- Operational Excellence:
- Optimize service delivery processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality
- Implement best practices in inventory management, logistics, and field service operations
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all aftermarket service activities
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the aftermarket services budget, including capital investment and operational spending needs
- Track and report on key financial metrics, such as service revenue, profit margins, and cost control
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth through new service offerings, upselling, and cross-selling
- Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing aftermarket services team
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the department
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activities in the aftermarket space
- Lead initiatives to enhance the company’s aftermarket service offerings and differentiate itself from competitors
- Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure aftermarket considerations are integrated into new product designs

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent from an accredited institution desired
- High School diploma, required
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in aftermarket services, customer support, or a related area, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful aftermarket strategies
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategy development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Travel and Work Environment:
- Ability to travel up to 50% (Largely domestic)
- This position typically splits time between an office environment and visiting customer sites, field operations, and other company locations
- The role may involve occasional weekend or evening work to meet deadlines or address urgent customer needs
