About the Job
The Director of Facilities will direct, oversee and
coordinate all functions and activities of Facilities Management Departments,
including Engineering, Plant Operations and Facilities Management. The Director
will assume overall responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning,
maintenance and operation of all buildings, equipment, machinery, systems and
grounds-keeping. Will direct, plan, coordinate and is administratively and
professionally responsible for the proper installation, operation and maintenance
of uninterrupted light, heat, power, water and monitoring systems of all
Hospital buildings and services. The Director has oversight of budgets,
staffing, short and long range planning, program development, policy and
procedure for all Facilities departments, construction / renovation operations,
landscape operations, campus planning, skilled trades contractors, maintenance
and repair programs and energy management. Maintains oversight of owner
representative for construction activities. Ensures compliance with local,
state and federal regulations and regulatory agencies, efficiency of services
and delivery of optimal customer service.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or
Architecture required; business management course work preferred.
Demonstrated
knowledge of Joint Commission requirements and State Administrative Codes
required.
Ability to
read, write and communicate in English required.
Minimum of
seven (7) years progressively responsible experience required in related field,
including five ( 5) years as a director or administrative manager.
Experience
in Hospital Engineering preferred.
Demonstrated
ability to plan and implement on schedule and on budget.
Demonstrated
knowledge of HVAC, mechanical and electrical repair, and total building systems
associated with the health care industry, as well as maintenance, construction
and contracts required.
Excellent
problem solving, analytical, verbal and written communication skills required
(using quantitative analysis and critical thinking). Ability to actively listen
to ideas and concerns and respond in an appropriate manner required.
Excellent
verbal / written communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to
plan and meet deadlilnes required.
Demonstrates
