Overview
The Director of Enterprise Data Retention and Governance will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's valuable data assets. This role is essential to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and optimize data storage costs. The Director of Data Retention and Governance is responsible for leading Insmed's enterprise-wide data retention and governance initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure data is managed, retained, and protected in compliance with local, regional and regulatory requirements. This role will oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure proper management of Insmed' s data assets across all business functions. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain a robust data retention and governance framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and business objectives.Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:- Data Retention Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data retention policy aligned with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Data Classification: Establish clear data classification and retention schedules for various files, data types.
- Technology Assessment: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies to support data retention, including data storage, backup, and archiving solutions.
- Data Governance Framework: Establish and oversee a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organization
- Data Privacy and Compliance: Stay informed about evolving data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA). Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Data Security: Work closely with the security team to ensure data is protected from cyber threats.
- Data Migration and Archiving: Oversee data migration and archiving projects to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments (e.g., research, development, commercial, legal, finance, HR) to ensure alignment on data retention, classification, and governance practices.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to build consensus and drive data retention, governance initiatives.
- Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in data governance and retention
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in data governance or related role
- Strong understanding of data retention, governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
- Broad knowledge of the pharma industry
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary Range
$171,000 - $239,667 a yearCompensation & Benefits
