We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Director of Enterprise Data Architecture to join our growing team in Daytona Beach, Florida or Dallas, Texas!The Director, Enterprise Data Architecture will lead the creation and operation of the Enterprise Data Architecture Program for Brown & Brown. This director will be responsible for defining and evolving the overall strategy, architecture and roadmap for the enterprise Modern Data Platform. This experienced individual will lead a matrixed team in the definition of associated policies, standards, procedures and patterns for data solutions across Brown & Brown.Who We Are: Brown & Brown, Inc.

We are driven to set goals high and aim even higher.General Responsibilities: Develop and evolve the Modern Data Platform strategy, architecture and roadmap.Define and measure the data capabilities required to support the business, technology and data strategies.Partner with the CDO, Enterprise Data Enablement and Enterprise Data Platform teams to develop and implement the Enterprise Data Strategy.Lead the development of business cases for Modern Data Platform roadmap deliverables.Develop and maintain policies, standards, procedures and patterns for data solutions.Continually evaluate new and existing data capabilities and technologies.Define and execute processes required to ensure compliance with data policies, standards, procedures and patterns.Mentor and provide guidance to Data Solution Architects and division Data Architects and Data Engineers.Work well with co-located and distributed team members and partners.Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and problem-solving skills.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.Experience defining architectural patterns, solutions and controls for data pipelines, data integration, data transformation, analytics, reporting and modeling (e.g., AI/ML).Strong understanding of architecting and delivering solutions in a cloud environment.Deep understanding of data modeling, data management and data governance principles.Passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existing skills.Experience in end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) projects.Experience working with key stakeholders and business leaders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively on teams.Self-starter that works well and is able to be a leader in a matrixed team environment.Ability to adapt and respond in a rapidly evolving business environment.8+ years of related work experience.Preferred Qualifications: Experience architecting cloud-based Modern Data Platforms.Experience architecting data solutions in an Azure cloud environment.Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Snowflake and/or equivalent cloud data technologies and platforms.Experience defining patterns and solutions leveraging Data as a Product, Data as a Service, Data Mesh, Data Virtualization, Delta Lake, Lakehouse and/or Data Fabric.Familiarity with SQL, Java and Python.Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.Experience leading matrixed teams to architect and design platforms and solutions.12+ years of related work experience and 5+ years of progressive leadership experience.Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent certification(s).Experience in the insurance industry and/or basic knowledge of insurance.Experience architecting solutions covering multiple geographies.
