Position Summary:
The Director of Ecommerce will be responsible for driving growth and achieving margin targets for our Shoes For Crews Direct to Consumer platform, as well as our Amazon and other eRetail platforms. This role will oversee all aspects of our online presence, focusing on optimizing the customer journey and user experience, improving SEO rankings, streamlining the path to purchase, enhancing search functionality, and ultimately creating a best-in-class customer experience.
The ideal incumbent will be a data-driven, strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of revenue generation. They should be highly collaborative, able to take strong yet adaptable positions as they test and learn,and serve as a strong advocate for the customer experience. This individual will also work closely with various sales verticals to translate brand needs into an exceptional site experience. Extensive experience in site performance optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), data analysis, retention strategies, and full-funnel activation is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Strategic Ownership: Take full ownership and accountability for the strategy, sales, and profitability of the DTC ecommerce business. Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to drive site design and functionality, enhancing the online consumer experience and overall site performance.
- Site Management: Oversee the shoesforcrews.com shopping experience, including managing product listings, promotions, and exploring methods to drive growth through conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing initiatives.
- eRetail Platform Management: Manage and execute strategies for Amazon and other eRetail platforms, focusing on increasing sales and visibility across these channels.
- Collaboration with IT and Design: Partner with the IT team and website developers/designers to identify, execute, and implement website enhancements and redesigns aimed at boosting conversion rates and improving the customer experience.
- Ongoing Website Enhancements: Lead ongoing enhancements and maintenance, including personalization and segmentation strategies, product catalog management, landing page optimization, SEO, UX/CX best practices, tag management, user testing, and QA for website development.
- Product and Service Presentation: Plan and execute strategies to effectively showcase the site’s product and service offerings, driving consumer engagement and maximizing sales conversions.
- Content Management: Maximize site performance and enhance the online shopping experience by leading the planning, scheduling, deployment, execution, and maintenance of all site content.
- Digital Marketing Collaboration: Work in partnership with the Marketing team on all digital marketing efforts, including website marketing, email, SMS, paid media, and social media, both paid and owned.
- Traffic-Driving Activities: Align and execute site experience improvements and optimizations with ongoing traffic-driving activities, such as email marketing, SEM/SEO, social media, and other digital marketing channels.
- Operational Collaboration: Collaborate with customer service and other operational teams to ensure the site’s content and experience are consistent with operations and marketing communications.
- Vendor Management: Oversee third-party agencies and vendors, making data-driven recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Site P&L Ownership: Hold full responsibility for the site’s P&L, ensuring profitability and strategic alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with the team to design and execute thorough testing of website customer journeys and implement innovative ideas that enhance customer understanding of product and service offerings, ultimately improving the user experience by optimizing satisfaction, conversion rates, and average order value.
- Analyze traffic source performance to guide website maintenance, evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies, and optimize user flow.
- Utilize website and customer analytics to gain insights into business trends, report on the overall health of the business, and drive prioritized, profitable growth opportunities and decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, specifically in the Direct-to-Consumer space.
- 2+ years’ experience with a widely used ecommerce platform
- Experience with integrated email and SMS marketing platforms preferred. Digitally savvy.
- Experience with Google Analytics to provide insights into website traffic, user behavior, and other metrics.
- Proficient in HTML and CSS.
- Management experience. Has managed teams, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional partners.
- Entrepreneurial and collaborative. Ability to adapt quickly to new opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in multitasking and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter who requires minimal guidance. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or IT; MBA a plus
- 5+ Years of experience in a related field and/or position
