About the Job
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Director of Marketing collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders and senior management teams to set the strategic direction and develop, execute, and communicate the brand marketing plan for the US market. Develops and manages marketing/communications projects to support growth of the Fresenius Medical Care brands. Acts as an internal divisional expert regarding marketing strategies & tactics, managing the external marketing agencies and internal staff. Partners with internal functional teams (Communications, Sales, Operations, Business Development, Compliance, Legal, Clinical Services, etc) to support identification of brand growth driving strategies and execution resulting in higher perception and awareness of our products or services brands. Supports Fresenius Medical Care’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the Fresenius Medical Care Compliance Program, including following all regulatory, divisional, business unit and department policy requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through the use of marketing strategies supporting the company’s mission and core values as a means to drive profitable growth across Fresenius Medical Care brands.
- Develops clear and concise annual brand plans, supporting the overarching business segment objectives.
- Recommends and develops impactful marketing campaigns, programs, and/or plans to support overall brand growth strategies.
- Utilizes target audience insights to develop communications, innovation and go-to market strategies across portfolio seen as breakthrough and highly effective in engaging audiences and building overall brand health.
- Leverages patient, physician, provider, and staff insights to define best in class benefit driven messaging and communications.
- Utilizes data and reports from quantitative and qualitative market research, in-center observations, audience feedback competitive reviews, internal and external information sources to identify potential growth opportunities.
- Leads the design and development of marketing campaigns, inclusive of messaging, positioning, from concept to execution leveraging data driven research and business needs to create targeted executions across communication channels.
- Develops and implements initiatives that drive target KPI’s such as brand awareness, sales conversion rates, impressions, inbound lead volume, site traffic, and other related performance metrics
- Oversight of overall agency relationships including resource allocation, budget, and creative strategy/direction.
- Collaborates with business partners including internal and external subject matter experts to create programs and campaigns that elevate our brands across target audiences.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive team. Acts as a serving leader and exemplifies our global core values of excellence, reliable, proactive and collaborative.

SUPERVISION:
- May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of marketing staff.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, advance degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 6+ years’ related experiencein marketing, preferably in healthcare sector.
- 3+ years’ experience as a Manager or in a senior managerial role.
- Demonstrated experience managing one or more brands, business units.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and high performing teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be an experienced healthcare marketing professional, with background leading a marketing department and marketing projects.
- Proficient in analysis and use of empirical data to make strategic decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business-related field required.
- Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns utilizing both traditional and digital marketing channels.
- Must have a proven track record of utilizing digital marketing strategies to improve online brand positioning and customer acquisition.
- Experience leading the development of internal processes and policies designed to maximize digital marketing efforts and related performance metrics.
- Strong computer skills required with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams.
