Summary:The Controlling Director is principally accountable for execution of accounting activities in the Americas legal entities within the accounting policies set by Group Controller and the management reporting framework (e.g. profit center and cost center coding for all transactions) set by Group Head of FP&A. The role holder is accountable for providing financial controlling leadership and ensuring the integrity of accounting activities / reporting, financial control, and compliance to internal and external standards within all Americas entities (US/CA, Mexico and Brazil).
For US/CA partnering with Shared Services on closing and reporting on General Ledger including (1) approval of material journals (2) review of monthly financial statements to ensure integrity (3) review of General Ledger account reconcilements and approval of aged item clearance plans (4) review of cash bank account reconcilements. Coordinating activities with the FP&A team, FCC. Leadership over similar functions for the Mexico and Brazil teams
Directing and coordinating accounting staff to ensure clean and timely internal and external audits; supporting audits and related processes; liaising with internal and external auditors; providing information as required and supporting the Americas and Group Tax teams as necessary
Championing the Calderys Group's and HWI's financial policies and procedures by providing operational administrative direction to the accounting teams, plus other finance and business stakeholders. Working closely with the Group Finance team for more technical and complex queries
Overseeing cash forecasting alongside the FP&A Senior Director
Partnering Shared Services with special projects and workflow process improvements, partnering IT with Oracle quarterly update testing and ownership of US setup
Providing support to their team to develop their capabilities and skills
Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for the department that measure performance, guide improvement, and communicate progress; providing executive updates
Responsibilities:The role holder works closely with Shared Services who are responsible for executing US accounting processing, plus directly leads the small US team, Mexico team and Brazil accounting lead.
Further, the role is responsible for collaborating on the development of, and then executing on, standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and financial systems and controls in line with Calderys Group's policies and procedures.
The role holder is responsible for conducting ad hoc analyses of the organization's finances and working cross-functionally to ensure transparency and alignment to drive high-impact business results.
From a stakeholder management perspective the role holder will be integral as the key Regional leader for most of the day to day financial operations, working closely with other local finance leaders [Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Director of Taxes], plus Global finance leaders [Group Controller and Group Reporting, Group Treasury and the three global Shared Services tower Directors]; in the business interfaces with legal entity Board and legal department and acts as local escalation for P2P and OTC issues that commercial and operations teams experience; externally key relationship holder with auditors etc.

- The Americas Controlling Director required ten plus (10+) years of accounting and financial management experience in an organization with at least $200M in sales.
- B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- MBA preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Oracle (Cloud preferred) and other ERP system knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including presentation planning and delivery skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including people development/coaching, objective setting, and measurement skills
- Experience of working with shared service centers in an international group working to tight deadlines
- High energy results-oriented individual that can help drive the business to exceed profitability and growth goals
